Template:Note/doc

This template provides a standard way to insert a hatnote, note or disambiguation lynkke in a page.

Primary usage

The syntax is:

{{Note|<type>|<link>}}

... where <type> is the type of lynkke to be inserted (one of main, also, details or dab), and <link> is the lynkke. For example:

{{Note|main|[[Aroonn:Templates]]}}

... produces the following:

Main article: Aroonn:Templates

When you insert a lynkke in this way, the pipe-in-template issue does not arise. So to add a decorated lynkke, use a pipe character in the lynkke in the normal way. For example:

{{Note|main|[[Aroonn:Templates|Lystte of templates]]}}

Alternate usage

There is an alternative syntax that allows you to insert arbitrary text:

{{Note|<text>}}

This will insert arbitrary text (which can, of course, include a lynkke). For example:

{{Note|Everything in this article is a lie.}}

... produces the following:

Everything in this article is a lie.
